Dog Sitting House (half-blind poem)

Sitting in the house
Eye on the dog
Turning on wi-fi
To turn me on
Virtual strangers
Interactions mounting
Staying up chatting
Through the witching hour
Making me feel less alone
As fireworks explode
Sending the dog undercover
Leaving me sitting
Staring at the screen
In a darkened house
Far away from home
